This library building was constructed on Whistler, BC, Canada and designed by Hughes Condon Marler Architects. The library project have lots offers to people, both for knowledge and architecture, the Whistler public library building is an energy efficient building, solve to its site challenges. To celebrate a outdoors, creative and intellectual pursuits of local and visitor community’s passion, they built this Whistler public library building. The library used 15,000 square feet to build on this project, the library was built to aspired connection of the sense of imagination.

Connecting contemplation and community found in whole world of books is on of the inspiration created by surrounding mountain tops and adjacent forest glades, its very natural. The L-shaped geometric makes this library allows multiple connections to contrasting site conditions. At the north side of the library there is a park to children’s reading circle, pedestrian walkways, biking/skiing greenways and a stream for stormwater management. The elevator on the north and west of the library provide a wall glazing system for optimizes visual connections to Sprott Mountain. (Photography by Martin Tessler)
